Cordova Ranger District Chugach National Forest

This area has excellent genetics, producing trophy Brown Bear, Black Bear, Mountain Goat, and Moose. It is also a controlled use area, limiting the amount of guides and hunters. Scenery between mountains and ocean is unlike any other as it lies right off the ocean in the Gulf of Alaska where salmon runs are high, allowing bears to grow to their fullest potential. The area is loaded with rivers and streams with massive amounts of food (a long season salmon run and rich vegetation) for moose and bears alike. This food supply and great genetics gives tremendous opportunity to harvest large trophy bulls, bears, and goats.

Cordova itself has no roads to the town, so access is via plane or ferry from Anchorage. Camps are fairly cush with cots and heaters provided on bear and moose hunts and all equipment is top-end. Combination hunts are available. This is truly spectacular country with a multitude of animals to pursue.
